Fan Mail and a New Book

Few things move me the way your fan mail does. I love that you share your lives and pain with me, that you trust me that much without us ever having met.

About a month ago I sold a proposal for a psychology/parenting book on the loose girl issue. I’m excited about this book because there really isn’t anything else like it. There are tons of books with evidence why gorls shouldn’t have sex, tons of books about rape and molestation, tons of books about the grown-up slut. But this will be the first book – like Loose Girl – that addresses the issue of addiction to male attention, how it’s culturally fueled and so hard to avoid. And – in answer to many of your requests – I plan to devote a few chapters to making change in your life.

I plan to use many of my fans’ voices in the book. If you’re interested in being interviewed for the book, please fill out the survey that is linked from the Loose Girl page here on my web site. .

The question is, however: Are you going to publish the crazy ones in their own chapter or scatter them among the more ‘sane’ ones (if one can make such a dualistic generalization) like a monkey scattering poo? Granted it’s entertaining poo.

Hi, my name’s Heidi. I’m 18, and just out of high school. Knowing a bunch of “loose” girls I thought I’d read you book. I picked it up two days ago and I’m finished as of today. But Just thought I’d ask, because the last thing you mention about Leif is that “I still love him.” I was wondering, do you still do? Do you still talk to him? Is he married as well?

Hi Heidi. No, I don’t still love him. He is married, yes, and we’re not in touch. Thanks for writing.

    Hello
I’m an English student and just to top up your praises, I read ‘Loose girl’ on a 4 hour train journey yesterday. I was in complete awe at how incredible your writing is, and how I hadn’t discovered the book before. It shows so much power and ability, I love it. It has made me see my life in a completely different light, and gave me a sense of security and belonging.
I would just like to say thankyou.
    Rosie.

Hi – very great site you have created. I enjoyed reading this posting. I did want to publish a remark to tell you that the design of this site is very aesthetically sweet. I used to be a graphic designer, now I am a copy editor in chief for a marketing firm. I have always enjoyed playing with computers and am attempting to learn computer code in my spare time (which there is never enough of lol).

When you started dating your husband Michael, when did you tell him about your past? He seems like a great guy I am glad you got marreid. It gives me hope because I use to be the “loose girl”.
